Argosy University, Twin Cities will host its annual Dog Wash on the west lawn of the Eagan campus at 1515 Central Parkway, Eagan, MN, on Wednesday, July 20 from 3-6 pm. Dog owners are welcome to bring all well-behaved canines who are up-to-date on their shots for a free wash (donations welcome), a micro-chip ($25) and/or a nail trim ($8). Proceeds from the event will go to the Secondhand Hounds Fighter Fund.
Members of the Student Chapter of the National Association of Veterinary Technicians in America (SCNAVTA) will organize and host the event. The students started the fundraiser in order to raise money and help save our furry friends. This semester the students chose to give the proceeds to the fighter fund because the non-profit rescues animals with severe medical issues that are often costly.

Under the direction of doctors of veterinary medicine and certified veterinary technician instructors, Argosy University’s veterinary technician students are prepared for certification and careers in the veterinary industry. Each semester, dogs and cats are brought to campus from area shelters. These animals provide students the opportunity to learn while improving not only the health of the animals, but also their chances of adoption. Animals are bathed, spayed/neutered, receive dental cleaning, get required shots and are cured of illness before moving on to foster homes and potential adoption.
