Vonfisher got out of his car after the initial crash and was then struck by a 2021 Tesla Model 3, troopers said.

He was pronounced dead at the scene.

The Tesla's driver, Austin Muigai Muya, 21, of Champlin, and a passenger, Samia Ali Abdirizak, 22, of Coon Rapids, were not injured.

Troopers said the road was dry and alcohol was not suspected in the crash. Cardinal Towing, Minneapolis Fire, Minneapolis EMS and Hennepin County Medical Center also responded.

The State Patrol listed the incident report as complete as of Monday morning.
