Blotter: Stolen Wire and an Unlocked Vehicle

Theft

  • A 49-year-old Eden Prairie resident told police he found his truck tailgate door open and items missing. Someone had stolen a $300 Craftsman air compressor, $475 chainsaw and a toolbox with drive socket sets and a channel lock screwdriver, worth $300 total. The theft occurred between 12:30 a.m. and 6:30 a.m. Oct. 6 on the 10000 block of Juniper Lane.
  • A 21-year-old Eden Prairie man said someone stole his $1,400 Apple MacBook from his vehicle, while it was parked unlocked at Hennepin Technical College between 1 p.m. and 2:15 p.m.

Burglary

  • Gunnar Electric reported on Oct. 3 that someone stole five 2,500-foot spools of copper wire, worth $3,000 total. The thieves cut six padlocks, worth $54 total, on a shed to steal the wire.
