Final weekend of Oklahoma! at ISM
It's your last chance to see the talented students at The International School of Minnesota perform the hit musical, Oklahoma!
The International School of Minnesota (ISM) will be presenting its spring musical, Oklahoma! this Friday and Saturday, April 26 and 27 at 7:00 pm with a Sunday matinee on April 28 at 2:00 pm in the Leila C. Saad Performing Arts Center at ISM.
Oklahoma!, which is based on Lynn Riggs’s 1931 play, Green Grow the Lilacs, is set in Oklahoma Territory in 1906. This classic musical includes some of the best known songs in musical theatre: Oh What a Beautiful Mornin’, Surrey with the Fringe on Top, People Will Say We’re in Love, and of course, Oklahoma!
The show tells the story of the high spirited rivalry between the farmers and
the cowmen, the romance of cowboy Curly and farm girl Laurey, and the tormented farmhand Jud who tries to tear them apart, the flirtatious Ado Annie and the steadfast, down to earth Aunt Eller who teaches everyone to persevere. The play opened last weekend with great success. The lively dance numbers, the “dream ballet,” and exceptional lead vocals are highlights of the show.
Friday night’s show will feature a question and answer panel with the cast after the show; Saturday is Director’s Night, and Sunday’s audience is invited to join in the fun and dress in their best western duds!
Adults $10.00 – Students $7.00.
