Shouldn't You Know Who David Hann Works For? And What Industry?

David Hann adds to his ethical problems.

Not only is Senator Hann licensed to sell insurance; he's licensed to sell health insurance.  You know, the kind of insurance that's overseen by, say, the the Health and Human Services Committee?  Hann isn't just "on" that committee; he chairs it.

That, Ladies and Gentlemen, is a huge problem, because nowhere does Hann disclose that.  Not on his campaign website; not on his official Senate website; not on his Statement of Economic Interest, filed with the Campaign Finance Board.  Hann didn't disclose that at the Candidate Debate last week, either.

For two years, Hann has been Chair of a Committee that has: "jurisdiction over all legislation relating to health care and human services."  This year's legislative session May 12th, 2012 - and then on June 28th, Senator Hann received his license to sell health insurance, a product he oversaw as Chair of the HHS Committee.

And no where did he disclose it.

Ladies and Gentlemen, this is a HUGE conflict of interest.  Overseeing legislation for two years, and now being in a position to profit from the last two years of doing the taxpayer's work?

As soon has Hann got his license to sell health insurance, he should have immediately updated his campaign website and his official Senate website to indicate he isn't a "business process consultant" to an insurance agent.

He didn't, and he needs to be held accountable.  If Hann survives this scandal - which he shouldn't; reasonable people should vote him out - in all probability, the first order of the next legislative session will be an ethics complaint against him.

Hann is already in ethical trouble due to his involvement with the Amy Koch - Michael Brodkorb scandal, that has already cost the taxpayers over $100,000 in legal fees.

Now this.

David Hann does not deserve another term in office and more time to write and influence legislation that he can personally profit from.
