The International School of Minnesota presents Oklahoma!
ISM's spring all-school musical is the classic, Oklahoma!
The International School of Minnesota (ISM) will be presenting its spring musical, Oklahoma! on April 19, 20, 26 & 27 at 7:00 pm with Sunday matinees on April 21 & 28 at 2:00 pm in the Leila C. Saad Performing Arts Center at ISM.
Oklahoma!, which is based on Lynn Riggs’s 1931 play, Green Grow the Lilacs, is set in Oklahoma Territory in 1906. This classic musical includes some of the best known songs in musical theatre: Oh What a Beautiful Mornin’, Surrey with the Fringe on Top, People Will Say We’re in Love, and of course, Oklahoma! The show tells the story of the high spirited rivalry between the farmers and the cowmen, the romance of cowboy Curly and farm girl Laurey, and the tormented farmhand Jud who tries to tear them apart, the flirtatious Ado Annie and the steadfast, down to earth Aunt Eller who teaches everyone to persevere. The lively dance numbers, the “dream ballet,” and exceptional lead vocals are sure to be highlights of the show. The Rodgers and Hammerstein musical Oklahoma! opens April 19 and runsthrough April 28. Adults $10.00 – Students $7.00.
