Company Fined $500K by California
Eden Prairie-based manufacturer Birchwood Labratories Inc. has agreed to pay $500,000 in fines after violating air quality rules in California.
According to the Minneapolis-St. Paul Business Journal, the company's Casey Gun Scrubber Solvent/Degreaser exceed the state's limit for volatile organic compounds.

The company has paid the first of four $125,000 installments to the California Air Pollution Control Fund in August.

Eden Prairie-based Stratasys Inc.—the maker of 3-dimensional printers—beat Wall Street analysts predictions last week after reporting a nice rise in third quarter revenue.
According to the Star Tribune, the company saw revenues rise 24 percent to $49.7 million as shipments picked up. In addition, excluding integration costs, earnings rose 40 percent to $8.7 million or 40 cents a share, beating analysts estimates by three cents.
City Employee Receives a One-of-a-Kind Award
City of Eden Prairie utilities operator, Andrew Sullivan, was stunned when he received American Water Works Association's first outstanding leadership award.
But receiving the award isn't what surprised him, according to an Eden Prairie News article. Not only did he receive the first award of its kind, but it was also named after him.
Sullivan was honored with the award for his work in creating “Liquid Assets Minnesota," a documentary that explores concerns about Minnesota’s aging water infrastructure.
