Eden Prairie Fire Hydrant Flushing Starts in April
The procedure ensures all the hydrants are in working order.

Eden Prairie’s Utilities Division will begin flushing and doing maintenance checks on all fire hydrants in the city starting in April.
The procedure is done annually to clear any sediment that may have accumulated in the pipes and ensure all of the 4,000 hydrants in the city, public and private, are in working order.
“Here is A BIG reason why, in my 25 plus years with the Eden Prairie Fire Department, I have never experienced a bad fire hydrant at a fire,” Fire Chief George Esbensen wrote in a Wednesday blog post.
