Eden Prairie Native Named College Hockey Player of the Year

The award was just one of many that Danny Kristo received this season.

College Hockey News announced Tuesday that Eden Prairie native Danny Kristo was its selection for Player of the Year.

The honor is just one of many awards that the University of North Dakota forward has received this year. According to UND, he’s also been named a:

  • 2012-13 Hobey Baker Memorial Award Finalist
  • 2012-13 College Hockey News Player of the Year
  • 2012-13 All-College Hockey News First Team
  • 2012-13 All-WCHA First Team
  • 2012-13 NCAA West Region All-Tournament Team
  • 2012-13 UND Virg Foss 3-Star Award

This season, Kristo scored 52 points and 26 goals—bringing his collegiate total to 161 points (68 goals, 93 assists), 18th on the school’s all-time scoring list.

Kristo has signed an entry-level contract with the Montreal Canadiens.
