From Catching Bad Guys to Cradling Young Girls
Being a police officer presents unique challenges for parents, as one Eden Prairie officer explained.

Police officers have a difficult job—but their role as a parent can also be difficult because of their unique occupation.
Eden Prairie Police Officer Travis Serafin discussed these dual roles for an article in the May edition of Minnesota Parent:
“My daughters know I catch bad guys, but I don’t bring my work home for my wife and kids’ sakes,” the father of two said. “Mostly my girls want to know if the person did anything wrong, if anyone was hurt, and if I needed to help someone.”
The article discusses challenges ranging from the shift work schedule to the different approach that each job requires.
