How Should the City Tell You About an Emergency?
Eden Prairie is conducting a survey about how those who live or work in the city want to receive information during a public emergency.

Two years ago, Eden Prairie surveyed the community to find out how the city could keep them informed during a widespread public emergency. Yet technology changes fast, and the city wants to ensure it’s using the best methods to notify those who live and work in Eden Prairie in the event of a widespread public emergency.
So once again, the city is conducting a survey about how people want to receive information during an emergency.
“In the event of a widespread public emergency, City officials would need to determine the fastest and most effective way to communicate important information and instructions for those who live and work in Eden Prairie,” a city release stated.
The questionnaire asks people what means of communication they have in their home and how they’d prefer to receive information about specific types of alerts. The city will use information gleaned from the survey to aid in emergency preparedness planning.
“Your responses will help the City’s Public Information Officers maintain the best methods for communication in an emergency, and your input is greatly appreciated!” the release stated.
