Is Stratasys on the Verge of Buying Makerbot?
While the CEO won't comment, TechCrunch reports that Eden Prairie's Stratasys is in talks to buy the consumer-level 3D printer manufacturer.

Eden Prairie-based Stratasys is negotiating with Makerbot talks to buy the manufacturer of consumer-level 3D printers, TechCrunch reported Saturday.
Stratasys makes professional-grade 3D printers for industrial use, such as the one used in the new University of Minnesota Medical Devices Center. Makerbot, on the other hand, sells its Replicator 2 for $2,200.
While TechCrunch quoted “a source close to the matter,” Makerbot founder and CEO Bre Pettis has so far refused to comment on speculation that the company is in acquisition talks.
