Meet the One-Act Play Director: Stephen Houtz

In honor of the Eden Prairie Players' ongoing production of A Collection of One Acts, Patch will profile a different one-act play director every day for the next week.

Editor's Note: The Eden Prairie Players are in the midst of mounting their eighth production of A Collection of One Acts. Patch will publish a profile on one of the six participating directors every day this week. Today's featured one-act director is Stephen Houtz, who responded to our questions via email. He is directing the play "In The Yichud Room" by Joel Fishbane.

Eden Prairie Patch: Why did you choose this play?

Houtz: I liked the abstract way that the author presented his story. It is theatrical in ways that traditional narrative is not, and allowed us to engage the audience in the story in a theatrical way.
