A new high-tech piece of equipment proved its worth Thursday when it saved the life of someone who’d stopped breathing, according to a Fire Department blog.
The Fire Department bought the Physio-Control, Lucas II Device in January for its engines. The device performs the compressions during CPR. Because the devices provide a consistent depth and rate for the compressions, they may lead to better chances of success for patients. They also free first responders perform other life-saving procedures.
Read about how the devices have worked Thursday on the Fire Department’s blog post about them.
