Police Catch New York Shoplifters After Chase

The suspects reportedly tried to steal a digital camera from Best Buy.

Three alleged Brooklyn, NY, thieves failed to get away from police after trying to shoplift a digital camera from Best Buy on Sunday, Eden Prairie announced Monday.

The three suspects were seen taking the camera from the store without paying for it. They fled from police when officers found them in their vehicle leaving Best Buy’s premises. Officers tried to stop the vehicle as it turned north on Flying Cloud Drive, but the driver refused to stop—leading to a police chase.

The chase ended near the intersection of Valley View Road and Prairie Center Drive when an officer executed a “pursuit intervention technique”—a tactic in which a police officer forces a vehicle sideways, causing the driver to lose control.
