Stearns County Deputies Find No Sign of Matula in Mississippi
Cell phone and financial records showed the person of interest David Marshall Roe had been in central Minnesota.
The Stearns County Sheriff’s Office completed its search of the Mississippi River without turning up any sign of missing Eden Prairie woman Mandy Matula, the St. Cloud Times reported Thursday.
Stearns County deputies, with help from the St. Louis County Sheriff’s Office, searched the river at the request of Eden Prairie investigators after cell phone and financial records showed that Matula’s ex-boyfriend David Marshall Roe had been in central Minnesota.
The Wright County Sheriff’s Office continued its routine patrols on the Mississippi but didn’t do any extra searches for Matula.

Matula has been missing now for over two weeks.
Roe, who was identified as a person of interest in the case, killed himself in the Eden Prairie City Center parking lot after police asked to speak to him.

• Search in the St. Cloud area: Meet at Riverside Park on Saturday before 10 a.m. (1800 Kilian Blvd, St. Cloud) The park is located right off of the Mississippi River.
