Supervalu Settles Suit Against Former Executive

Eden Prairie-based Supervalu has settled a lawsuit against a former executive in which the company had alleged he violated a non-compete and confidentiality agreements by accepting a position at Unified Grocers.

As previously reported by Patch, Supervalu's attorneys sought an emergency court order in mid-December, barring its defected executive Leon Bergmann from working for his new employer.

According to Supermarket News, terms of the settlement were sealed, according to court documents.

New Hardware Store to Replace D'Amico & Sons

A new hardware store will open in Eden Prairie in the spring. 

Jerry's Do It Best Hardware & Rental will occupy the former D'Amico & Sons location in Preserve Village, near the corner of Anderson Lakes Parkway and 169.

D'Amico & Sons closed suddenly in November. A sign on the door at the time said they had "been unable to come to terms with the landlord to extend (their) lease."

C.H. Robinson Senior Vice President to Retire

After 34 years with C.H. Robinson, Senior Vice President Jim Butts will retire effective Dec. 31.

According to a news release, Butts has been a senior vice president since December 2007 and has served as a member of the executive team since April 2002. His previous positions with C. H. Robinson include Manager at both the Chicago South and Detroit offices.

"The C.H. Robinson network has benefitted from Jim's leadership and passion to preserving and developing customer relationships, account management practices, and network management skills," John Wiehoff, CEO and chairman at C.H. Robinson, said in the release. "We will miss Jim and we wish him all the best in his retirement years."

Devane Design Receives "Super Service Award"

Devane Design earned the 2012 Angie’s List Super Service Award, an honor awarded annually to roughly 5 percent of all the companies rated on Angie’s List.

According to EdenPrairieNews.com, Devane Design won in two categories, "Interior Design and Decorating" and "Kitchen and Bath Remodeling."
