Summit Hotel Properties Inc. also purchased the Minnetonka Holiday Inn Express & Suites in the $17.1 million acquisition.

Austin, TX-based Summit Hotel Properties Inc. has closed on the Hilton Garden Inn in Eden Prairie, Twin Cities Business reported Thursday.
The real estate investment trust purchased the 97-guestroom Hilton Garden Inn, along with the 93-guestroom Holiday Inn Express & Suites, for a total of $17.1 million, a news release stated. Summit expects to put $3.6 million in improvements into the two hotels over the next year.
“These six hotels are very well positioned amid multiple demand generators in their respective markets,” the release quoted Dan Hansen, Summit’s president and CEO. “We are excited about the opportunity to extend our nationwide reach into the Indianapolis and Louisville markets as well as grow our presence in Minneapolis. These acquisitions squarely hit the marks of our simple strategy; top brands in top markets.”
