Thief Traipses Into Eden Prairie Home, Steals Wallet

A thief walked into a Tristram Way home, stole a wallet and then used credit cards to rack up hundreds of dollars in charges, according to Eden Prairie police reports.

A 56-year-old woman, 53-year-old man and 14-year-old girl told police that the garage door had been left open and that a door from the garage to the home was unlocked.

When they went to close the garage door, they noticed a wallet was missing from the office and suspected someone stole the wallet.

The theft happened between midnight and 6 a.m.

Police initially found that someone had made four charges worth $1,415.77 on two credit cards. They later learned that someone made three charges worth $1,434 on a third card and cashed a blank check for $1,000.

Nothing else was reported missing.

Investigators are following up on leads based on the usage of the cards.
