EDINA, MN — Three men were arrested Wednesday afternoon on probable cause murder in connection with a fatal shooting near Southdale, and police now say the case does not appear to have been random.
Officers were called around 12:30 p.m. Wednesday to the 3300 block of W. 66th St. on a report of a shooting, according to Edina police.
When officers arrived, they found one victim with a gunshot wound. Despite life-saving efforts, the victim died.
Police said the suspects fled before officers got there, leading to a large law enforcement response and precautionary lockdowns at nearby businesses. By about 4:15 p.m., three men had been arrested in connection with the case. Investigators believe the victim and suspects knew each other.
W. 66th Street has since reopened to traffic, but the investigation remains ongoing.
Police are asking anyone with security footage from the Southdale area or other information tied to the shooting to email EdinaPoliceTips@EdinaMN.gov.
