• Hospice nurses with Allina Health begin strike, doctors plan to start striking on Monday (bringmethenews.com) — Hospice nurses with Allina Health have launched a weeklong strike, and 150 doctors at Allina's Mercy and Unity hospitals — including the Unity campus in Fridley — plan to walk out Monday in a separate four-day action. Both groups, represented by SEIU, say they're fighting for better schedules, protections, and pay, while Allina cites tight Medicare reimbursements and rising costs as it insists patient care will continue uninterrupted.
