Fantastic Sams, the national hair salon franchise with 120 locally owned salons in Minnesota, announces that Jon
Schabell has joined the company as a regional educator for the Minnesota region. A resident of Fridley, Schabell previously worked as a regional educator for Fantastic Sams of Wisconsin and has worked in the hair salon industry for 6 years as both a stylist and manager.
Schabell is the third educator to join the growing Minnesota region and will work with the team to conduct multiple
classes, from the latest trends and techniques to manager training—giving stylists the opportunity to update their skills and advance their careers. In addition, the region is also one of the first to certify its stylists as Master Color Artists after they pass an intensive, three-day Redken Color training program.
“Fantastic Sams places great emphasis on training and providing support to its stylists to help them succeed and be the best they can be,” said Schabell. “I look forward to helping build on the region’s successful education program.”

Minnesota is consistently recognized among other Fantastic Sams’ regions for its education program that is serving as a model for the franchise’s expansion throughout the Midwest. Mary Jo McGinnity, regional director of education for Fantastic Sams of Minnesota since 2006, was named Educator of the Year in 2009 and 2011.
“We recognize that the skills and confidence of our stylists are key to our success,” said Dave Boitz, regional
director for Fantastic Sams of Minnesota. “As we continue to grow the region and add more salons and new stylists, we are excited to have Jon join our team as an educator to meet the increasing demand for additional training.”
