
The snow has melted away and I'm fairly sure we will/may not get any more. That can only mean one thing. The weather is nice enough to have a great community festival.
This year the 49er day's festival will be on June 27th through the 30th. It all begins with the "Run For Fun" at around 6:20 pm on the 27th, and then goes right into the great 49er Day's Parade starting at 6:30 pm. a carnival, which will be held this year at the Medtronic Rice Creek campus (7000 Central Avenue NE)
On Friday there will be Senior Activities at the Community Center, a softball tournament at Community Park, the carnival, Lion's beer tent, Bingo( put on by Tamarisk), a pizza eating contest (Zza Factory) and a Street Dance featuring the band, Power of 10.

Saturday will feature a softball tournament, kids activities, the Alina/Unity Hospital Wellness Testing, the carnival, the Fridley City Band, our first Pie Baking Contest with a top prize of $1000.00, Bingo( put on by Tamarisk), Lions Beer tent, the Fridley Ambassador Program, pizza eating contest (Zza Factory), the Fridley All Class Reunion and Street Dance featuring the Band Chris Brooks and the Silver City Boys.
Sunday will culminate with the carnival, a car show, our first ever Fridley Idol, and if all goes well, a great display of fireworks at Commons Hill.

The festival has something for every age group and is a chance to bring our community, as well as others together for four wonderful days of fun and excitement. There are lots of opportunities for people to help out by volunteering or donating to this event.
