Our Diabetes Crisis

Diabetes will double by 2034 and top $450 billion in cost. Diabetes has been associated with heart disease, blindness, kidney disease, stroke, high blood pressure, amputation and Alzheimer's disease.

In January, the American Diabetic Association reported that 25.8 million people have diabetes and 79 million people are prediabetic. The current cost of diabetes isΒ  $213 billion ... that's fight folks, BILLION! The current estimate predicts that by 2034 diabetes will double and the cost will top a whopping $450 billion.

Complications of diabetes include blindness, kidney disease, high blood pressure, amputation, heart disease, stroke and now what researchers are calling type 3 diabetes or Alzheimers. Diabetes destroys small blood vessels and affects every system, organ and tissue in the body.

Our current use of medication has its pitfalls in that it increases the chances of heart disease and other various complications. What was once considered to be an adult affliction is now being seen in teenagers and in some cases even children.
