Buzzfeed: 'Mighty Ducks' movies, Mississippi River among '38 Things Minnesotans Are Too Nice to Brag About'

Fridley has ties to the 'Ducks' franchise and a whopping seven-mile stretch of North America's longest river.

Mighty Ducks movies the Mighty Mississippi take their place beside tater tots, Bob Dylan and butter sculptures in one of Buzzfeed's trademark lists, 38 Things Minnesotans Are Too Nice to Brag About.

Fridley can lay claim to its share of credit for both the hockey flicks and the river. The city of Fridley has about seven miles of Mississippi River shoreline. D3: The Mighty Ducks, the 1996 installment in the Mighty Ducks film franchise, showed the world the inside of the now-closed Columbia Arena on University Avenue NE in Fridley. In Buzzfeed's opinion:

The greatest movie franchise of all time is basically a documentary about Minnesota hockey.

Have you guys ever seen a flock of ducks flying in perfect formation? It's beautiful. Pretty awesome the way they all stick together. Ducks never say die. Ever seen a duck fight? No way. Why? Because the other animals are afraid. They know that if they mess with one duck, they gotta deal with the whole flock. I'm proud to be a Duck, and I'd be proud to fly with any one of you. -Gordon Bombay
