Connie Bernardy Cites Fridley-Area Schools in Supporting Education Bill
The state representative from Fridley made the comments in a floor speech.
State Rep. Connie Bernardy gave a speech on the floor of the Minnesota House of Representatives last week—"during our discussion around the education bill. I spoke up to support the investments we're making in our schools," she said.
An excerpt:
"I'm very, very proud and honored to be a part of a community that played a role in developing this bill, that came before the Legislature to testify on the innovations and the bold things they're doing in the districts. From our students to our parents to our teachers, our school administrators, school boards and parents. I represent a diverse school district, being a medium sized school district across the state but actually small for the metro area. ... I find it intriguing that one of the school districts I represent actually has the most students living in poverty ... in the state."
