On Thursday, March 1, 6 p.m., Chad Amborn is presenting a plaque of the winners of Parkview School's Chess and Checker tournament winners to the Fridley Historical Society. These tournaments were a real event for the Parkview students. Dr. Switzer, who was the principal of Parkview, gave it to Amborn when the school closed in 1976.
