Hyde Park Neighborhood in Zoning Hot Seat

Hyde Park, a Fridley neighborhood of slightly more than a dozen blocks, is in the spotlight recently—thanks to several separate city initiatives: rebuilding beat-up roads, rewriting zoning rules and creating a transit-oriented development district around the station. 

Community Development Director Scott Hickok said it's a coincidence of timing that zoning initatives and road projects affecting one neighborhood have come before city government in recent weeks. The zoning changes and development district are on the city council's Monday agenda for public hearings. The meeting is set for 7:30 p.m. at City Hall.
