Off-Leash Area’s Annual Neighborhood Garage Tour once again brings professional theater and dance to garages in neighborhoods throughout the metro area with a creative, fantastical romp for all ages. This year’s production, “The Picnic,” follows the relationship between two mismatched companions, a fastidious Bird and a rambunctious Dog, who meet in a city park and fall in love. The Bird and Dog are brought to life by two dancer-actors, while an eccentric Parks and Recreation groundskeeper paints a fantastical and ever-evolving seasonal landscape around them. The show includes an original full score by innovative jazz trio The Willie August Project, and a quirky poetic text by National Endowment for the Arts fellow Lightsey Darst.
