The Kennedy-Lugar YES (Youth Exchange and Study) program is a bi-partisan program created to promote cultural understanding between the U.S. and countries with significant Muslim populations. High school students from these countries receive a scholarship to study in the U.S., see what our country is really like, and educate us about their home countries. The scholarship is very competitive and only 4% of the students applying are chosen. We still have several YES program participants without a host family for the year.
