Opportunity Services Client Success Story: Rachel
Rachel is thriving in her new role as a member of the Sales Support Team at Herberger's in Northtown Mall.

Rachel has been with Opportunity Services since 2009. She’s currently working independently at Herberger’s in Northtown Mall as a member of the Sales Support Team, placing new merchandise on the sales floor. It’s a fairly new position for her, as she just started last month! Previously Rachel worked at Salvation Army for almost 4 years. Before working independently with OS, Rachel was a member of several work teams including Culver’s, McKesson and several housekeeping opportunities through the Coon Rapids site. She made the “quantum leap” from a work crew to independent employment once she felt ready to work on her own. “I love working on my own but also enjoy having the support of a job coach, if I need one,” said Rachel. “She’s very receptive and always brings positive attitude to the job” explained Cheryl Syverson, Receiving Manager at Herberger’s. “Rachel is never late for work and is willing to go above and beyond to get the job done.”
Rachel’s sister Jamie Zupon is on the Board of Directors for Opportunity Services. “It makes sense to support an organization such as Opportunity Services, when I’ve seen first hand the difference they make in peoples lives,” said Jamie. “I only wish all employers could see the benefits of hiring people with disabilities. Rachel is a hard worker and truly loves her job.”
