Person Only Wanted Ride to Airport: Fridley Police Blotter
Police responded to a call for help—and helped the person get a cab to the airport.

This is a selection of police activity for Feb. 12, from information provided by the Fridley Police Department.
- An officer responded to a request for assistance in the 8300 block of University Avenue NE. The person wanted a ride to the airport and after speaking with the officer, made arrangements for a taxi.
- A person passed out in the 5600 block of Hackmann Avenue NE was transported to detox.
- A complainant in the 5200 block of Third Street NE told police she suspects a visitor who she hasn't been able to contact since of stealing $1,100 in cash from her kitchen table.
- A child playing with the phone in the 6400 block of Fifth Street NE turned out to be the perpetrator of a 911 hang-up call.
- Police notified the registered owner of a suspect vehicle after a complaint in the 6500 block of Fridley Street NE about a car full of teenagers driving recklessly.
- A male who offered a forged check in the 8400 block of University Avenue NE was arrested and taken to jail.
- A complainant in the 5200 block of Third Street NE reported that a neighbor saw someone trying to gain entry to her apartment while she was away. The suspect did not get in.
- Police took a stray dog from the 7300 block of Memory Lane NE to the Brighton Veterinary Clinic.
- Vague threats and continuous phone calls from a former boyfriend prompted a female in the 5700 block of East River Road to seek a police report.
