READ: Fridley Police Issue Crime Alert after Burglary on 61st Ave.

It's the second alert in two days for a break-in at a Fridley residence.

A second break-in at a home in Fridley in as many nights has prompted the Fridley Police Department to issue another crime alert.

This time, according to the latest alert, an unknown burglar or burglars broke into a home in the 200 block of 61st Avenue NE sometime between 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday and 3 a.m. on Wednesday. The residence is about a block south of and a couple blocks east of the Northstar Commuter Rail Fridley Station.

It appeared the intruder gained entry by breaking a basement window, according to police. Missing items include cash and a computer printer. No one has been arrested.

The was for a home on Kimball Street in the city's northwest corner.

The crime alert includes safety tips for securing your home against thieves. Police advise calling 9-1-1 if you think someone is trying to break in to your home, or if you arrive home and suspect an intruder may be present, go to a neighbor's and call 9-1-1.

Fridley Police Lt. Mike Monsrud said his department issues crime alerts in most cases after a residential break-in, to advise nearby neighbors, to provide safety advice, and to spread the word more widely in case others have information that could help the investigation.
