UPDATED Report: Motorcycle on Main Street NE Speeding at 130 MPH

According to Police Clips, the MN State Patrol called off its pursuit.

Updated below. A motorcyclist tore through Fridley and Columbia Heights at high speed Sunday night, according to a report at the Police Clips page on Facebook.

A recording of emergency radio posted at Soundcloud by Police Clips puts the speed at 120 miles per hour heading south on Main Street NE.

The motorcyclist reached speeds of 130 miles per hour, according to Police Clips.

Update (Monday): Spokespersons at the Fridley Police Department and Minnesota State Patrol said by email Monday morning that they didn't find records of this event.

Update (Tuesday): Lt. Eric Roeske of the Minnesota State Patrol reviewed the agency's records and said this by email Tuesday:

We had a trooper attempt to stop a motorcycle in Minneapolis around that time however we lost it and discontinued pursuing it. I don’t know if another agency picked it up however the description of the route it took when it fled from us is different from what you’ve described below

The incident started at about 10:01 p.m. and officers were cleared at about 10:06 p.m.

  • Started at I-694 and Main Street NE in Fridley.
  • Then south on Main Street NE to St Anthony Pkwy.
  • Then east on St. Anthony Parkway to Fifth Street NE.
  • Then north on Fifth Street NE.
