Spring Lake Park High's Auman, Olson at State Golf

Spring Lake Park junior Nick Auman finished the Class AAA state boys golf meet in a tie for 36th place on Wednesday at Bunker Hills in Coon Rapids.

Auman shot a 156 at the two-day tournament, tying him with six other golfers. He shot a 74 on the first day of competition on Tuesday and was tied for 11th place after the first day.

He followed it up with an 82 on Wednesday. Auman shot a 37 on the East nine but had a 45 on the West nine during the second round.

Forest Lake’s Max Kelly finished as the individual state champion with a round of 143.

In the team competition, Wayzata and Rogers finished tied for the state championship. Wayzata shot a 291 on the final day to tie Rogers with a 592 overall score.

On the girls side, junior Miranda Olson finished the tournament tied for 76th with three other golfers. She shot a 198 over the two-day tournament.

Cretin-Derham Hall freshman Celia Kuenster and Stillwater Area’s Cassie Deeg finished tied for first place on Wednesday with a 148. On the team side, Wayzata won the state championship by shooting a 661. Stillwater finished second with a 668 team score.
