Howdy all!
Welcome to my first installment of my first blog! (pause for applause).
I was reminded today that every moment of every day is a learning experience and it takes the time to recognize the importance of each moment to gleam the lessons.
Today I was reminded of 'natural consequences' as I saw the kids running to the bus stop this morning. Most of the kids looked fairly appropriately dressed considering it's fall and getting colder by the day. There was one kid though who had forgotten their jacket and looked cold. The parent didn't seem one bit phased by it and even told me that she warned her kid that it was cold, much to the child's pleading, she did not return to get the coat.
I secretly and sometimes openly applaud this parent who takes a firm stance on their child's ability to regulate their own behaviors. Would the kid have been warm if mom had gotten the coat? Yes. Would the kid have learned anything? Sure! That mom does everything and they aren't responsible for squat!
By a show of hands, how many people think that tomorrow that kid will have a coat?
I'm rooting for you,
~Eric
