Totino-Grace Baseball Starts State Play after Upsetting Maple Grove

Eagles take on Forest Lake at Midway Stadium at 5:30 p.m. Thursday.

baseball team fought their way into the Minnesota state high school tournament Wednesday by bumping off 6-5.

That was the same score that ended the Crimson's season last year—a to Burnsville High School.

Now the Eagles enter the 2012 state tournament with a 5:30 p.m. game Thursday against Forest Lake High School.

Update: Totino-Grace's boys lacrosse team takes on Edina Thursday in the state third place game at 6 p.m. in Chanhassen.

The Wednesday win over Maple Grove came after a rain delay when Totino-Grace was behind 3-1. "That's just kind of how our guys are," Eagles coach Mike Smith told the Star Tribune. "There was no secret formula. They can get into it and concentrate even after they've been away from it for a while."
