Totino-Grace Girls Soccer Falls To BSM
The Eagles will play for the third place trophy on Tuesday

The girls soccer team lost 3-0 to Benilde-St. Margaret’s on Monday in the Class A state quarterfinal at the Metrodome in Minneapolis.
The loss means the Eagles (14-5-2) will face Rochester Lourdes in the third-place game, which is set for Tuesday at 8 a.m.
T-G entered the game as the fourth seed in the tournament against the top-seeded Red Knights (18-0-3), and both teams remained scoreless until the 10:11 mark of the first half when BSM’s Dana Buckhorn found the net. The score remained 1-0 until the 43:45 mark, when Peggy Reiner scored to give the Red Knights a 2-0 lead.

BSM sophomore Kelly Pannek scored on a penalty shot late in the game to ice give the Red Knights the 3-0 advantage.
T-G was outshot 18-2 in the game. The Eagles will face a Lourdes (18-2-1) squad that went 18-0-1 in between defeats. Rochester Lourdes lost 2-1 on Aug. 25 to Kasson-Mantorville, then didn’t lose again until falling 2-0 to The Blake School in the state semifinals on Monday.
