Totino-Grace Softball Loses In Consolation Title Game

The Eagles fell 2-1 to Bloomington Jefferson, ending their state tournament run with a 1-2 record

The Totino-Grace softball team ended its 2011 season with a 2-1 loss to Bloomington Jefferson in the Class AAA consolation championship game on Friday at Caswell Park in Mankato.

The Eagles fell behind 2-0 and couldn’t recover on Friday, thanks to a brilliant pitching performance by Jefferson’s Hannah Evavold. Evavold pitched 6 1/3 innings, didn’t allow a run and gave up three hits on the night.

The Jaguars held a 2-0 lead heading into the top of the sixth, and after Cassandra Santiago took over on the mound the Eagles (25-2) were able to generate some offense.
