Update (2:16 p.m. Thursday): Xcel Energy now shows only five customers in Fridley without power, with an estimate that they'll have service restored about now.

Original post (9:15 a.m. Thursday): Overnight storms dropped 2.5–3.5 inches of rain in the Fridley area, according to  WCCO-AM.

Storm-related outages left 283 customers without power in Fridley Thursday morning. Xcel Energy said service was lost at 7:32 a.m. and would be restored by 10:22 a.m.

The National Weather Service issued a flash flood watch for an area that includes Fridley through 1 p.m. Thursday.

A mudslide restricted westbound traffic on I-694 east of Fridley, causing backups as long as five miles, according to WCCO-AM.
