Which Fridley Neighborhood is Hosting the Most Night to Unite Block Parties?
Police and peaches will be circulating at more than 90 Night to Unite block parties around Fridley Tuesday evening.

Police officers will be scrambling all over Fridley Tuesday evening in an effort to visit the more than 90 Night to Unite block parties.
Night to Unite is an annual event meant to bring neighbors together to enjoy food, have fun and share crime-prevention ideas. Fridley Police Special Projects Coordinator Myra Harris said the city has been holding the event since the early 1980s.
“We contact our block captains, and we put an ad in the city newspaper that comes out,” she said.
This year Bob’s Produce gives a case of peaches to every host, the city gives ice cream, and Target hands out bags of school supplies.
It’s locally organized; Fridley police won’t make public a list of party locations. But along with police officers, the fire department and the city council make their way through Fridley neighborhoods.
Parties start at times ranging from 4 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.
Here’s a ranking of the Fridley neighborhoods hosting the most parties:
- Rice Creek Townhouses East, seven parties
- Christie, six parties
- Summit Manor, five parties
- River Edge Way, four parties
- Logan Park, four parties
- Lakeview, four parties
- Meadowmore, four parties
