The National Weather Service has extended its advisory about wind chill through 9 a.m. Tuesday:
DANGEROUS WIND CHILLS WILL PERSIST THROUGH TUESDAY MORNING...
TEMPERATURES WELL BELOW ZERO TONIGHT AND TUESDAY MORNING COMBINED WITH NORTHWEST WINDS UP TO 10 MPH WILL CREATE WIND CHILL VALUES BETWEEN 25 BELOW AND 40 BELOW ZERO ACROSS THE REGION. THE COLDEST WIND CHILL VALUES THROUGH TUESDAY MORNING WILL OCCUR ACROSS WEST CENTRAL AND CENTRAL MINNESOTA. ...

WIND CHILL ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 9 AM CST TUESDAY ... WIND CHILL VALUES BETWEEN 25 BELOW TO 35 BELOW ZERO THROUGH TUESDAY MORNING.
A WIND CHILL ADVISORY MEANS THAT VERY COLD AIR AND STRONG WINDS WILL COMBINE TO GENERATE LOW WIND CHILLS. THIS WILL RESULT IN FROST BITE AND LEAD TO HYPOTHERMIA IF PRECAUTIONS ARE NOT TAKEN. IF YOU MUST VENTURE OUTDOORS...MAKE SURE YOU WEAR A HAT AND GLOVES.
