Women Photographers/Visuals Artists (WPVA) exhibits new work at Banfill-Locke Center for the Arts
Banfill-Locke Center for the Arts welcomes the Women Photographers/Visual
Artists group (WPVA) to an exhibition of new work at the Center from March 8 to
April 5; the show is titled WPVA: Works.
This group, which
has met together in the Twin Cities area since 1992, fosters artistic pursuits
through regular meetings and exhibitions.
While the collective has eighteen active members, the exhibition at BLCA
will highlight the work of nine artists:
Lester Hughes-Seamons, Nancy Chakrin, Suzi McArdle, Martha Driessen,
Barbara Slater, Sylvia Horwitz, Janet Coleman, Linda Passon-McNally, and
Dorothy Childers. These artists are all
painters and photographers; each artist will share recently created art work in
this exhibition.
Bethany
Whitehead, BLCA Executive Director, says: “This diverse group of women artists
will share their individual vision of the natural world through the works in
this exhibition. I look forward to
seeing the beauty and artistic eye when the art works come together in our
gallery space.”

artists with a reception on Saturday, March 8 from 5 to 7 pm. The public is invited to stop in and see this
show and meet the artists during the reception. Free tours of the exhibition are available
when arrangements are made at least a week in advance.
Banfill-Locke Center for the Arts is a nonprofit art center

through a public/private partnership with the Anoka County Parks Department.
Built in 1847, the building is one of the few remaining Greek Revival style
