Woodcrest Baptist Academy Performs Well at Midwestern Competition

Students from the Fridley school excelled in musical performance, preaching and knowing the Bible.

The Bible quiz team at took second place at the Mid-America Association of Christian Schools Academic and Fine Arts Competition held March 16–18 in Kansas City, MO.

It's the best showing ever for the Fridley school in Bible quiz competition, according to principal Loren Isaacs. (See Fridley Patch's February at Woodcrest.) 

Woodcrest Baptist students also did well in other areas of the regional competition, which includes Bible, music, speech, visual arts, and academics:

  • Seniors Caleb Darling and David Moren won a first-place trophy for their sacred piano duo.
  • Darling also place third with a classical piano solo.
  • Moren also placed first in the spelling competition.
  • Senior Ron Newland placed third in topical Bible preaching.
  • Woodcrest's small and large male vocal ensembles finished second and third place, respectively.
