Absentee Ballots Must Be Received By 8 PM On Election Day

If you have already sent the completed ballot back by mail, you can check status of that ballot on the Minnesota Secretary of State website.

October 30, 2020

A federal court ruled Thu, Oct 29 that ballots received after 8 pm on Election Day must be set aside and could face legal challenges that would result in them not being counted. Due to this ruling, Hennepin County and the City of Golden Valley no longer advise residents mail their ballots back. Instead, drop it off at Golden Valley City Hall (7800 Golden Valley Rd) or the Hennepin County Government Center (300 South 6th Street, Minneapolis).
