• Jeff Baenen establishes scholarship at Perpich Center for Arts Education (jamestownsun.com) — A new $1,000 housing scholarship is being launched to help a Perpich Center for Arts Education student live on campus at the school's Golden Valley location, easing housing costs for a young artist. Funded by retired journalist Jeff Baenen, the award could expand in future years, and community members are invited to support additional Perpich residential scholarships through online giving or by working with school leadership.
   

• Stine's Huge Day Leads Tigers to 36-0 Victory (kvsc.org) — High school football fans in Golden Valley saw St. Cloud Tech dominate Breck 36–0 in a rainy home game, powered by four first-half touchdown catches from junior receiver Everett Stine. Tech's defense kept the Mustangs from crossing midfield until late in the half, and the Tigers now turn their attention to a home rematch against Detroit Lakes next Friday night.

• This cat (no tag, can't feel a chip, but seems like it belongs to someone because it's so friendly) has been hanging around our house in Golden Valley the last couple months but has been especially chatty and attention-seeking lately.
