Armstrong Baseball Perseveres to Win High Scoring Game Against Centennial
Despite losing a large lead, by giving up seven runs in the fourth inning, the Falcons battled back to defeat Centennial 11-8 on Wednesday afternoon.
travelled to play Centennial in a high scoring game which included large rallies and clutch hitting from both teams. Halfway through the fourth Armstrong had already built an early 7-1 lead, scoring four of those runs in the second inning.
However, after a shocking rally by Centennial in the bottom of the inning, Armstrong went into the fifth down 8-7 after giving up seven runs.
The Falcons seemed to have their confidence shaken, and the momentum in the game had definitely turned to favor Centennial. Neverless, Armstrong endured through the strong performance by reliever Ryan Hassler and a game tieing homerun in the sixth inning by Jackson Goihl which sparked 2 more runs to give the Falcons a 10-8 lead headed into the final inning. Jackson Goihl homered for a second time in the seventh to give Armstrong another insurance run and to make the final 11-8.
