Armstrong Cooper Youth Hockey Association 2016-17 Mite Jamboree A Huge Success

First-ever coaches game was part of fun-filled weekend celebration for Mite and U8 players, family members, and friends.

The Armstrong Cooper Youth Hockey Association (ACYHA) recently celebrated its final weekend of the 2016-17 season with its annual Mite Jamboree. The three-day event is a special opportunity to showcase the skills that its young mite and U8 players have learned during the season while having a blast playing hockey and participating in other festivities. The ACYHA Mite program includes Mini Mites, Mite 1, Mite 2, Mite 3, U8 Travel and U8 House.

A special addition this year was a first-ever ACYHA Mite & U8 All Coaches Game on Friday night. "Creating memories like this is what makes our association pretty great," said Dawn Speltz, assistant Mite Coordinator. "We're really thankful for the commitment that these volunteer coaches have to our kids. All of our coach levels, actually," said Jodi Cassidy, Jamboree Committee member. "It was fun to watch them get a turn to play. "

Other Jamboree festivities included an open skate and individual/team pictures with Nordy from the Minnesota Wild, an ice cream social, raffle baskets, professional action photos, chuck-a-puck, hockey games with visiting associations, and plenty of inter-squad hockey. Kris Murphy, Mite Jamboree Chair, would like to extend a big thank you to the Jamboree Committee, Team Managers and parents for participating in such a fun and successful weekend.
