BOTTINEAU ROUTE SELECTION COMING TO A HEAD
The Golden Valley City Council is voting on the Bottineau Line next week - please contact them
The decision on the proposed routing of the Bottineau light rail line is near. It is now up to the Golden Valley City Council to endorse or reject the proposed route through Golden Valley, which would take it through Wirth Park and the Mary Hills Nature Area in Golden Valley, causing severe and irreparable environmental damage to some of the best wild open spaces in our city without any offsetting benefit. Many people in Golden Valley have expressed their opposition to the Golden Valley route, and Council members DeDe Scanlon and Joanie Clausen have publicly declared their opposition, but the issue is in doubt. A no vote from the Golden Valley City Council may take this route alternative off the table and save a valuable natural resource in our city. Please take a moment to email your opinion to the Golden Valley City Council members. Their email addresses are at http://www.goldenvalleymn.gov/council/members.php It doesn't have to be long, just something like: "I oppose the Bottineau light rail route through Wirth Park and nature areas in Golden Valley."
