Last Friday’s jobs numbers really scared Wall Street and their stock market investor clients. The number of new U.S. jobs in May rose much less than was expected.

But the jobs news is not all bad. One of the great things about the Internet age that we live in is that if you search for your topic of interest long and hard enough, you can find news, perspective and analysis that is completely different than what makes the headlines.

I found a great article about Minnesota’s job market in my weekend reading. According to the article, “Top 10 Cities in the U.S. To Find a Job: Monster”, the popular jobs website monster.com ranks the Minneapolis area and surrounding suburbs in the top ten cities in the U.S. for jobs posted.

So the jobs news is not all that bad for our family and friends in Minnesota. Now if the stock
market can hold on to the 2011 year-to-date gains over the summer, both existing and new employees can see their company 401(k) plans could continue to grow in value.
